Greetings once again fine Adventurers,
Thank you for your continued involvement on the comments board and the great response to our social stretch goal challenge. We have picked up 60 likes on the Facebook page already!

We really want to get this expansion over the line and into the pledge. We know our backers are a creative bunch so Jill has come up with a more interesting alternate Social Challenge; we are looking for 50 Instagram posts on the theme of Knight vs Dragon - tagged with #thedamselstale.
The most creative will get a special signed copy of the Damsel's Tale and the "Art of Tinderbox" book sent with their pledge.
Whichever social challenge is reached first will unlock the expansion stretch goal, we don't need to reach both!
Stretch Goal Review
In other stretch goal news we have rejigged the final set to add some more stacked reward levels featuring the remaining line up of Knight and Dragon characters.
Mumma Dragon Club
Big thanks to backer Jim for driving the uptake of the Mumma Dragon level pledge drive from the comments page, we welcomed 3 new Mumma Dragons today!

Congratulations to our brave, wonderful Adventurers,
The race is run, the quest complete, the crown is yours!
Thanks to your amazing support and positivity The Damsel's Tale has funded!! (in a mere 41,184 minutes!)
We must admit for a while during the $11,000's the faith and nerves were tested, but we have come through the trials triumphant - all thanks to your incredible support.
We want to shout out to Jim, Frith, Nico, Draxon, Indeviduo, Jon, Francis, Adrien, Scott, Sharon, Jill, BoardGameRevolution and everyone else who got involved in the comments, also Synergy Games for the lightning fast French Translation of the Rulebook.
Big thanks to all our Mumma Dragon and retail supporters, your generosity is humbling.
But it's not over yet!
We still have a handful of stretch goals to unlock, including the bonus Knight and Dragon character cards.
A lot of you have been asking about add-ons. We can confirm that any characters that we don't hit in the stretch goals will be available to purchase as a bundle in the Pledge Manager.
There was a lot of time spent on the design, artwork and balance of these cool characters, it would be a shame deprive you the opportunity to add more variety and replay value to the game for a few dollars more.
Damsels of the World
Backers from all over the planet have joined the campaign, which is always amazing! What was particularly amazing about this one was up until a couple of hours ago we were milking the home town love with the most backers coming from Australia! Now pipped at the post by the US by only 4 backers. (tracking courtesy of BiggerCake)
We are not ones to start an international rivalry just to sell more games, but... (aussie, aussie, aussie)

Chapter 6 - The Crown is in Sight

Hello again brave Adventurers,
We find ourselves poised before the final charge to glory. The crown glints from atop it's treasure pile, beckoning us forward to fame and fortune.
Through the cavern floor we can feel the trembling thud of the monstrous guardian returning to her lair.
No time to look back, we are so close. Go Hero!
3 Player Mode!
Great effort on the Likes gang! we assume that we will hit the target tomorrow and there is no time like the present! or some such. Gift horses etc.
Yay 2v1 unlocked congrats!
This in fact comes with 2 extra custom meeples. One of them is styled after Lady Artesia Scyllos (Dame Stephanie wasn't Illustrated in a meeple friendly format, but we can get a redraw just for the meeple if need be). The other will be another Cinder for the second panic track that features on the 2 player board.
With that, we thank you once more for your awesome support, no doubt fingers will be crossed as we reach the final days, let's bring it home strong!

Chapter 4 - a surprise in any language

Greetings Brave Adventurers,
and welcome to the ever more exciting updates for The Damsel's Tale campaign!
Bonus Character Count
We begin this chapter, as is traditional, by thanking you all for your comments contributing to the choices that will shape this fine game. In the current voting we have Dame Stephanie the studious knight in a landslide, and Snerl the White by a nose over Reinaldo.
As it is so close in the Dragon dept we are going to let it run for another couple of days before we make a call. So if you have a preference jump on the comments and make your vote count.
Expansion Stretch Goal!!
That's right as we head into the last week of the campaign we have an epic social challenge for an equally epic reward. The 2v1 expansion extends the game to 3 players (we knew you could do the math) and comes with 12 new player cards with actions balanced especially for the format. Plus an extra reminder card AND another custom printed meeple! The board will come a new track printed on the back side especially for the 2v1 game. The knights will be jostling to race to the crown *quietly* while the dragon has double the chance of picking a knight off when mumma gets to the lair.
All we need is 1999 likes of the Red Genie Games Facebook page and all this expansiony goodness, is all yours (currently 1646). You can do it!
Digital Rules Translations are coming!
We have had a few requests for translated rules, so we will be providing online versions of the rules in PDF and ePUB format in French, German, Italian and Spanish.
Book Box Dilemma continues!
It's still too close to call on the book edge style, we love that backers are getting passionate about your choices though. We are going to keep running it for a little longer, check the last update if you have no idea what we are talking about, but it's the choice that's dividing the campaign!
Chapter 2 - Mid Point Mayhem!

Greetings brave Adventurers,
And welcome to the mid point of this, The Damsel's Tale Kickstarter campaign!
We are tracking steadily towards funding at the current rate, thanks to your support, and it's time to celebrate with some prizes! Also a chance to have your voice heard and (literally) shape your copy of The Damsel's Tale.
To start with we would like to introduce you to a couple of special characters we have waiting in the lair to spice up the game for the Dragon player. The introductions would be easier of course if our Dragon Pups had names. This is where you come in. But first lets learn a little more about their personalities:
Each of the dragons provides a new card that replaces one of the cards in the Baby Dragon deck, altering the options available to the Dragon player.
Firstly we have our brave Red Dragon Pup: a more aggressive opponent for the knight. It can manipulate the knight forward OR backward by scaring or goading them. He is also braver, not depending so much on the mother dragon.
Our White Dragon hatching may not cut such a dashing figure, but makes up for it with some cunning intuition allowing it to predict the Knights moves and counter - rewarding precise play.
We are looking for names for our two baby dragons Red and White. Please offer up your suggestions in the main campaign comments. Our favourite for each will win a free signed copy of The Damsels Tale along with (very rare) copies of The Traders Tale and the Barmaids Tale from the prototypes we made for the Tinderbox Tales campaign.
So break out the baby name books, we will be taking suggestions for the next few of days!
Book Box Dilemma
Also, with the book box - we are having an internal debate, maybe you can help decide - do we go with a rounded edge on the page side or a straight edge ?
Curved edge looks nicer, but straight edge is more practical as it allows for more space in the box.
Again, please let us know your preference in the main campaign comments.
